BIOGRAPHY FOR JAN DISANTO

Jan DiSanto, RN,MS, MFT has been practising psychotherapy for over 30 years working with individuals, couples, and families with a wide variety of issues. Her diverse background includes psychodynamic psychotherapy, brief therapy, EMDR, hypnosis, ego state therapy, experiential and transpersonal therapies. Most recently she has been trained and certified in the Gottman method of couples’ therapy which is the only couples’ therapy based on research. Jan has maintained a specialty in the healing of relationships throughout her career beginning with her master’s thesis on conflict resolution in newly married couples. She has a special interest in helping people recover from traumatic, addictive, and broken relationships. Currently she uses the Gottman method not only with couples but also as a tool to coach individuals in transforming dysfunction in their relationships. Jan is in private practice in San Francisco and Mill Valley.
